Not really a scene but it's a great spot if you bring great company. It's a dive, no doubt about it. Friendly bartender, cheap drinks. There is no scene. This place is all about the drinkin'. It's a nice
bar to go to if you want to drink in a quiet atmosphere and don't want to be disturbed

The place is small and the decor can be upgraded but as it is, Back Door is without pretense and the drinks are unbelievably cheap. There's free popcorn! There is also a good selection in the juke box and some really amazing photographs of old downtown Los Angeles framed on the walls. Those alone are worth a look.
